How Does Child Critical Illness Insurance Work?
Child critical illness insurance functions much the same as any other insurance type in the sense that once your child is diagnosed with one of the critical illnesses or childhood diseases we cover, you’ll receive a lump sum financial payout. This money can then be used to help cover additional care costs, like hiring an in-home care assistant, doctor co-pays, costs for medication, and other healthcare-related items.
Additional Benefits of Child Critical Illness Insurance
With child critical illness insuranceyou’ll be able to shoulder the burden of paying for a range of medical expenses. For example, dealing with diabetes can cost families up to $1,500 a year in extra medical equipment and doctor visits; that money adds up. Child critical illness insurance also enables you or your partner to take the necessary time off work to care for your child.

With critical illness insurance, the premiums are low and guaranteed and can continue into adulthood, costing your children much less when they’re older than if they were forced to purchase critical illness insurance as an adult. Lastly, since the benefit is a one-time, lump-sum cash payout, you’re able to use the money as you see fit, meaning it can cover non-medical expenses as well.
